STABICOMBI - Development of oxystable pipe with centered aluminum folio and production infrastructructure of it

Project Summary

Oxystable pipe developed has a structure with two polypropylene layers with equal thickness and an aluminum foil layer in between these two PP layers. The most important advantages of the pipe are low permeability of oxygen in air and very low thermal elongation property. Distinction of this novel product against other PPR-al-PPR pipes in the market is the location of the aluminum foil in the pipe wall. Aluminum foil centering in the oxystable pipe leads to shorter joining durations and minimum oxygen permeability in the fitting zones.

In this project, production system for plastic pipes with centered aluminum foil, peeling apparatus and heating tools for welding sockets designed for joining this pipe were developed, and designs were patented. Product and the production system is the first in the World with these properties.
